I often times, get wierd looks when I say one of my favorite pastimes is "playing cornhole." So, let's set the record straight and explain the game to my unfamiliar friends.
Cornhole is a game very similar to horseshoes, but instead of playing with heavy horseshoes and sharp metal stakes, cornhole is played with wooden boards and 1lb bags of whole kernel corn. To play the game, you will need 2 wooden cornhole boards (boards measure 4'x2' and have a 6" diameter hole) and 8 corn bags in 2 different colors.
The concept of the game is simple. 4 players (on 2 different teams) compete with each other to reach a score of 21 points. You and your partner stand at opposite ends of the course and take turns pitching four corn bags onto the wooden boards which are 30ft apart. You score 1 point if the bags lands on the board and 3 points if you make a "cornhole" (a cornhole is the bag being thrown into the hole). If the bags lands off of the board, no points are scored. You and your opponent cancel each others scores out. For example, if you toss a bag and it lands on the board, you will score 1 point, but if you opponent also does the same, his bag on the board will cancel yours out.
